Henna Drawings

As part of my art practice, I do henna drawing on people’s body and write poems about the drawing.
Drawing henna on other people’s body is a way for me to connect with people through an intuitive process of drawing.

I’m currently gathering participants for henna drawing so feel free to contact me through the google form if you’re interested :)

Inside; Outside
London, Goldsmiths, Lockwood Annexe ground floor toilet, 2024
Group exhibition curated by Ngain Hin Chen

Photography of henna drawing on chiffon curtain, poems written with marker

Toilet is a space where we examine ourselves. By watching our bodies being reflected through the mirror, we become more observant. This is where we confront ourselves and our own desires.
Behind the photographed body, people can read a poem containing the story told by others and at the same time see their reflection through the mirror.

The exhibition theme is the relationship between Personalism & Dissemblance, examining the duality that arises when humans suppress their true desires/opinions to conform to social norms and meet societal expectations.
